Concrete!

A great deal of progress was made on Friday. I had to work on Friday, so Miked worked from home and was in charge of all photo ops that day. The city inspector came out on Friday morning at 9AM and approved the forms for the footers of the house. The concrete was ready to go as soon as that happened and the pumper truck began its work. I am bummed I didn't get to see it in person and hope that I will be able to see some of the wall pouring on Tuesday. The guys worked pretty much all day on Friday to get the concrete smoothed out and the rebar put in the footers. It is cool to finally be able to see where the walls will be. Miked bought the crew some pizza for lunch and they seemed quite appreciative. One of them also asked about buying his Jeep. It is funny because he was about the 3rd worker from the projects going on out back to ask if it is for sale. Sadly for them the answer is no way.

The big things that will happen next week are brick points being checked, wall forms being set, and then walls being poured. After that will be some major waterproofing including installing the drain tile. Things are moving along...for the moment at least. :)

  2. Sheri...HA! I am probably butchering it all. I ask Miked for the info...he's the resident Bob the Builder.
