What? I can't hear you whining about a new post

Yes, we have walls. Pretty awesome indeed. It was a busy weekend at Casa DT. When Mom and I took Claren for a walk Saturday night around 7:30, the guys were still hard at work. We saw them putting most of the effort into my room. I am hoping that this is because the fine folks at  Construction Applicators got my message and installed the secret chamber in my closet wall. I will need it to store my superhero costume if I ever become one. I say if, but you can never be too forward-looking.

Now to the photos:

The drywall came Friday and they loaded it into the house via a cool crane/boom thing.

OK, seriously how fun would it be to ride the drywall in. Probably there are rules against that. Wusses.

Also Friday, the insulators came and installed sound-proofing.

The sound-proofing was why I could not hear your whining. Well, that and I am sort of deaf.

This is one of my favorite pics -- the guys on stilts installing the sound-proofing. A bad guy in The X-Files used those kind of stilts, but I am sure these guys are cool.

It is a good thing we have the intercom because this sound-proofing looks serious.

On Saturday the guys hung the drywall. Everywhere, including the window seat in the attic, which I learned at dinner tonight is actually too small to be a seat so the little Ds are NOT to sit on it. Of course, this means the littlest D can't wait to sit on it.

They also put walls on either side of the steps.

Here is the rest of the attic.

I think this is the office and  foyer.

Emily said it is really messy in there. I suspect, though, that the all the dots were a camera problem.

This is my room. The only bad thing about the drywall is that we can no longer see Miked's glorious wire and duct and pipe work. Maybe they make a transparent drywall.

This is my closet area, where the secret chamber is.

Even my bathroom has walls. The guys still  have taping and sanding to do but the walls are in!

  2. I whined my way into a tour today and it is AWESOME! I totally expected the spaces to look smaller, but instead they looked spacious and delightful and ready for my constant presence.

P.S. Tell Joed that I'll let him sit up there.
