This was our first fire. It worked well, quite warm. There were some issues with setting off fire alarms but the big Ds worked on them.
Miked built me a desk so I can start working from home. Emily painted it. The box on it is the keyboard tray, the next step.
For his birthday, Miked got street numbers.
Some windows also have curtain holders. We also are getting more and more stuff done, but the latest has been a real neighborhood barn-raising.
A neighbor whose kids are older gave or sold a big swingset to the Ds and other neighbors. So down it came.
They tilled an area in the backyard and covered it with black tarp.
Even Grandma Jeanne got her hands dirty for the project.
Goof #2 just wants to swing.
Emily explains why it would be a bad idea to drag people on a swing. Or she tries to. The kids did it when she turned away. No injuries but there was a near-face plant.
How is that comfortable?
The next weekend they brought down the other piece, a house. They repainted and re-set all the loose boards.
Team Winchester sent its daughter to help.
The kids just want to play. Who cares if it was safe?
Finally, there was swinging! (The wholesome kind.)
Not sure what they are pointing at.
The last step was adding wood chips. Very nice looking and friendly on the feet, with the added purpose of keeping me from getting near the swings. Like that'll stop me.

wow. a park at the DT's.

Where's the swing for Uncle Matt? Looks great!
ReplyDeleteEllen, thank you. When you help me into the attic window seat, we will discuss the swing for me.
