When the small band of Elves known as the Wolfriders wanders through the barren desert where the trolls had left them for dead, Skywise, No. 2 Elf, spies mountains in the distance. As they gear up for their final trek through the heat, Cutter, the leader, tells them that they are heading to "sorrow's end." Now it isn't quite the same here at the DTs, but we are finishing up a bunch of stuff. They are anyway. I am just sitting around on my computer.
But here is what's going on:
Miked and Pete brought in the huge slabs of slate that will go around the fireplace.
Two of the upstairs bathrooms are tiled -- the master bath ...
And the kids bathroom.
See, both big D's worked hard on it. The floors still need grouting.
The slate floor for the mudroom also got laid. How cool is that?
Diligent D's at work.
The master craftsman does something really important while wearing his trend-setting earmuffs.
Outside, we started work on the driveway.
I will be glad to get this done because twice last week, I got caught in the rain while walking Claren around the block. The curbcut for the driveway will cut off some distance for my walks.
They cleared the drive area and set the forms for the curb part.
They also used some of the dirt to fill in some holes in the yard.
They also poured the concrete so that is where we stand now.
Another supercool ceiling fan.
And another supercool ceiling fan, this one on the back porch.
*****************SPOILER ALERT***********
When the Wolfriders got to the mountains, they found a village with other Elves that was really called Sorrow's End. They decided to raid it, rather than ask for help. But during the raid, Cutter falls for Leetah, daughter of the blind Sun-Toucher, who leads Sorrow's End. It is well worth a read and the Elfquest saga is online.
I have not figured out who I am or anything.

love the mudroom floor.

love everything about it.

Ah...Elfquest! Classic!
ReplyDeleteI don't like anything. It's all awful. This house is way too nice for my planned housewarming gift of incredibly accurate frog sculptures and garden gnomes to be appropriate.
