A new house and new look

Do you remember Kenny Fisher, Seth Green's character from the awesome movie Can't Hardly Wait? Kenny wore these big old swimming goggles as a fashion statement. Miked loaned me his earmuffs, and I am thinking of getting some to wear around. They have a microphone in them so I heard a little better, plus they have a radio in them. Super cool. And I look bitchin'.

Miked wears them at a jaunty angle as he shows us the completed hallway. 

I am not sure what the black thing is but it is significant, I am sure. I suspect it is a load-bearing black thing, and if it were removed the whole house would collapse. But I may be wrong. *** I am just told that this and the following picture are meant to show off a shelf in the powder room above the wainscoting. And apparently, the black thing is a pipe for plumbing, not a load-bearing black thin. ***

Here is prep work for more wainscoting.

The family room was under wainscoting work on Sunday. It may be mostly done. 

I should be able to tell where this is but I am drawing a blank. *** This is my bathroom. ***

Mom has been hard at work outside. She is planting some things in the corner of the daffodil bed and she removed a huge pokeweed thing from the tree area. Claren is just eye candy.
